If someone had asked me 10 years ago what subject I would be writing about, I have no doubt that I would have answered something other than "Alchemy".
Yet here I am. All of my assumptions surrounding this ancient discipline promptly vaporized after reading both Le Mystere de Cathedrales and Al-Kemi. Each of these books intrigued me in some quite unusual ways.
The first book intrigued me with the assertion that the Gothic Cathedrals were tomes written in stone to preserve Alchemical secrets. The second drew some very unusual connections between Alchemy and Pythagorean Number Theory
